"lie-lay" It is hard to figure out
Lie-Lay
Present Past Past Participle Present Participle
Intransitive lie( to rest) lay lain lying
Transitive lay( to place) laid laid laying
pl: Lie(to rest) commonly used for people, do not plus object
Lay(to place) used for things, after lay, we can find a object, like somewhere.
eg: I lie down for a nap every afternoon.
Lay the bricks over there.
These two words are so confused. I know their rules, but it takes too much time to figure out.
